     Riverview Cemetery, a Victorian garden cemetery, opened in1872 and consists of 87 acres on both sides of Market Street. There are 36,000 people interred here and space for another 20,000 burials.
     Riverview Cemetery's mission has always been to provide a dignified and affordable final resting place for loved ones regardless of social, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds.
     In recent years the conditions at Riverview Cemetery have deteriorated. But that will slowly change as the "The Friend's of Historic Riverview Cemetery" are in the process of cleaning up the cemetery in hopes of restoring it to its original glory!

Please note the following fees associated with Cemetery Operations:

• Purchase of New Plot   -   $1,000.00
• Burial ( casket or cremains )   -   $500.00
• Headstone, Grave Marker, Monument Placement   -   $75.00
        ( Fee waived for government-provided, military gravestones )
• Genealogy Look Up:  "Click Here" for request form.

MONTHLY:  FHRC will host " monthly " volunteer activities on the " Second Saturday " of each month from 9:00 to Noon.   Mark your 2012 calendar now and join us!

This Month's activities:

Saturday, February 11th from 9:00 to Noon:  Volunteers are needed to remove holiday decorations from the graves and take them apart to recycle, reuse, or compost.   Volunteers will also pick up branches for chipping.  Please join us for a fun morning in front of the large, public mausoleum.
