Picnic at the Mausoleum with Poe
August 15 (Friday)
6 to 8 pm
On the Mausoleum Lawn
Join the Friends of Historic Riverview Cemetery for Picnic at the Mausoleum with Poe, an open-air evening of readings from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, staged on the lawn of one of Delaware’s most architecturally and historically significant mausoleums.
Bring a picnic, a blanket or chair, and non-alcoholic beverages to relax among the monuments. Local volunteers and Poe enthusiasts will perform selections from his legendary works—including The Raven, Annabel Lee, and The Tell-Tale Heart—reflecting his most enduring themes of love, loss, the macabre, and the supernatural.
The event is free and all ages are welcome.

Become a Cemetery Guardian
We love our volunteers! Whether laying flags on the veterans' graves, pruning bushes and trees, or cleaning trash among the stones, volunteers make Riverview Cemetery a better place.
Every 2nd Saturday, we have clean up, but other days are available, too. Send us an email if you are interested in joining our wonderful team.
